Knee/Fetlock Wraps

The knee/fetlock wrap has been designed to help focus on treatment and care to these areas of your horse. With simple application of cold therapy you target and treat these sensitive parts of the horse and eliminates the need of cooling gels or ointments, and easiest of all you don't need to struggle with wrapping ice up in bandages! Cooling your horse after a workout in these areas also helps speedy recoveries after exerting these muscles.

Horses often get banged and bruised by running into things, being kicked by another horse, falling down when running and bucking ect.  It is not unusual to suddenly discover your horse has a large, soft lump on some part of the body.  One of the most common areas are the knee and fetlock joint. The skin might not be damaged, but the injured tissue underneath can swell and bleed or ooze serum, creating a large “balloon” under the skin.   If an owner actually sees the injury occur, he/she can control the bleeding (and keep the swelling smaller) by applying direct pressure and ice with EquineCool Knee and Fetlock boots.  Cold should only be applied for about 20 minutes at a time, however, giving the tissues about an hour between sessions. Cold therapy should be continued intermittently for as long as the area feels warm and soft.

The knee/fetlock wraps are sold in pairs of 2. Each boot comes with 1 hot/cold pack.  A colour choice of black or blue is available.

Injury: When a horse is injured in the knee or fetlock region, bruising and flaring muscles is the first sign of reaction which is why immediately using cold compressed therapy is critical as this reduces and prevents furter damage to muscle tissue. Using the EquineCool cold compression therapy by using the boots you will effectively slow down bruising and prevent the muscle tissue from flaring out.

The Knee/Fetlock Wraps are also made with a soft durable material, which is a tough compressed foam that is soft, stretchable and water resistant. The Knee Wrap with Cold Compress shaping conforms to the horse's knee/fetlock for maximum coverage and keeps the cold compressed ice pack against the area being treated. Velcro straps allow for a secure tight fit every time and are easy to release. The Knee/Fetlock Wraps can be applied to horses and ponies as it is adjustable due to the Velcro straps. The material is also easily washable.
